training club came to my place yesterday and guess who I got to see?
KIMBA! You know, I saw her when she first came, and a couple of
times since and liked her. But I’ll tell you what…that girl
was HOT yesterday…worked like a workin’ dawg and impressed me BIG
TIME. She’s doing really really well, and I know you know that,
but I’m very critical of how dogs work and I can tell you firsthand,
that girl worked beautifully. Full of life, full of fire, full of
all the right attitude and yet obedient when she was supposed to be.
Her grips were great, barking excellent, she showed tremendous love of
the work and you should be very proud. Of course, Cindy and Allan
have trained her to be this way, but even they can’t get blood from
turnip nor excellent work from a dog that just doesn’t have what it
takes. She has it! Just thought you might like to hear that.
Oh, it she’s never worked on my field before (we just set up the
permanent blinds yesterday, so no way she’d ever seen it before) and
nothing phased her. She just went out and worked her little heart
out. That means a lot. This section is in reverse order. The most recent pictures are nearest to the top. Kimba is currently in training for her Schutzhund I title at Here is Kimba working with her helper Alan. Thanks to Larry for these great pictures.

Kimba continues to make progress. Here is Kimba taking a ride on the puppy sleeve. Nice grip!
Thanks again to Larry Edgar for this awesome photo. Kimba worked successfully with some new helpers recently. This is important progress.
She recently did 7 bites in one workout. Good work Steve and Cindy!
Below are pictures of Kimba working on the protection portion of her Schutzhund training. The photos below were taken at vom Dreieck German Shepherd's awesome Schutzhund training facility owned by Dave & Kathy Blank. The helper is Steve House visiting from Vom Haus Stonje in Kentucky. It was a 12 km run for Kimba. " Kimba could have kept going. She pulled me the entire distance on my bicycle." said one of our trainers. Kimba also won her first confirmation show of 2005 today. This was a day to remember and the most fun show to date. Pouring rain and red mud! What a wonderful mess!!!. Kimba's conditioning and strength are readily apparent when you take her lead! Cindy and Steve of Vom Haus Stronje are doing a great job with her training and conditioning. Here is a picture of Kimba muddy and soaking wet after the show.

Gary's Schutzhund Helper training Good helpers make this look easy. I can assure you that it is not easy. It is hard work, but it's fun work. Unless you have tried this yourself, you have no idea how much skill, strength and stamina it takes to do it well. I have tremendous respect for all helpers who make our sport possible.
Thanks to Gigga for knowing what he is doing, and not biting me. Thanks to Steve and Larry for making sure I didn't get hurt.
